A dayafter the announcement of additional excise duty and cess of Re1 per litre on petrol and diesel, fuel prices were revised across the countryon Saturday.
In Guwahati, petrol price is hiked by Rs. 2.54 i.e. Rs.72.33 per litre and diesel price is hiked by Rs. 2.49 i.e. Rs. 69.99 per litre.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman hadannounced a hike in cess on auto fuel prices during her maiden budget speech onFriday. Sitharaman had said crude prices have softened from their highs, pavingway for her to review excise duty and cess on petrol and diesel.
