CAB Won’t Affect Article 371: Amit Shah

Union HomeMinister Amit Shah stressed on the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) while hewas on a two-day visit to Assam to participate in the 4th NEDAConclave held on Monday.

Speaking onthe occasion, Shah said that the tribal states won't face any problem if theCAB is implemented and that it won't affect Article 371. He said that the CABwill be implemented for the people who have come till December 31, 2014.

It has beenproved from the words of Amit Shah that the BJP government is consistent tobring CAB in the region.

Criticizing Congress, Shah said that till 2014, there has been a clash between themselves itself in North East. He also said that the Congress has never come up with a solution for terrorism.

Talking aboutthe divide and rule policy, Shah said that it has been made by Congress andsaid that Nagaland is a part of India saying that it was for the divide andrule policy of the Congress that the isolationism of the state was built duringthe rule of the Congress.

He also reiterated that NEDA has not only formed to win the election but it was formed to preserve the language, tribes, and culture of all the states. NEDA was formed to protect the geo culture of the Northeastern region.   

He also stated that the BJP government has emphasized on the land boundary agreement with Bangladesh saying that it will accelerate in the development of the Northeast.

Speaking about the National Register of Citizens (NRC), Shah said that allegations have been made that the name of foreigners' has been included in the NRC but he said that there will not be a single foreigner in Assam and Northeast.

Shah also stated that the Centre would take strict action against drugs and arms smuggling and trafficking in the Northeast.  

He alsoappealed to the state governments to take special measures on the tourismsector of the Northeast and asked the tourism department of every state toprepare a tourism package of the entire Northeast.
