CBI, ED visit Chidambaram’s house after Delhi HC order
After Delhi High Court rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Congress leader and former Minister P Chidambaram in the INX Media scam, officials of CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED) went to his residence on Tuesday night. According to reports, both the teams apparently went to arrest him in the case.
However, both the teams failed to locate him in his Jor Bagh residence and left after not finding him there.
Meanwhile, Chidambaram’s advocates are likely to move Supreme Court on Wednesday seeking a stay of the Delhi High Court order. “Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi has asked us to appear before the senior-most judge of the top court in the morning tomorrow,” senior advocate Kapil Sibal was quoted as saying by ANI.
