Chaos in NFR Maligaon HQ After tea seller Tests Covid19+

Shanker Bose, a resident of Bylane-13, Pandu Joymotinagar, Jalukbari has been tested COVID-19 positive on Thursday. The news reportedly led to chaos in NF Railway, HQ, and GM (Con.) offices at Maligaon.

The Covid-19 patient, who is reportedly a tea seller, visited NFR office in the previous two weeks. In view of the rapid spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in and around Guwahati and in keeping with the level of alertness being maintained in the organisation, it is requested that any Officer/Staff who might have come in contact with the said person in the office or outside, should immediately self-quarantine themselves duly taking precautionary measures and intimate to the same to this office, Amit Pratap Singh, Deputy Chief Accounts Officer/G, NF Railway, Maligaon said in a statement.

Meanwhile, in a notice issued by NF Railway Employees' Union (NFREU) General secretary asked the employees to check further spread of Covid-19, as there are possibilities of even non-symptomatic individuals carrying and communicating it.

NFREU requested NFR to make necessary arrangements for immediately conducting random swab tests on staff working in the offices of NF Railway HQ and GM(Con.).
