Police looted Rs 20 lakh from Mizo women at Guwahati

In a sensational case, the Guwahati Police have arrested three of their men for allegedly looting Rs 20 lakh from a woman from Mizoram who had come to Guwahati to open a business.

Busting this sensational case, the police found that three of their men Pranjal Bora (Sub-Inspector), John Pathari (Sub Inspector) and Bipul Hazarika (Home Guard) conned the Mizo Businesswomen and looted Rs 20 lakh posing as crime branch story.

According to the police, the Mizo women had arrived in the city and she had an accomplice named Prakash Sonar who acter as a driver of her.

The driver Sonar suspected that Mizo women had an ulterior motive with the money contacted the home guard who in turn contacted the Sub-inspector. and hatched a plan to dupe the women.

As the woman was waiting in her car for someone yesterday in front of the Hotel Taj, these three swooped down on her posing as Crime Branch official and 'seized' the money.

The perplexed women walked into the Dispur police station demanding to know why money was taken from her which was brought to the city open a Gym with a partner.

All hell broke loose as the police smelled a rat and swung into action to find out who did it. Later the top officers of the Crime Branch official also joined and it was soon found out that these three had done the act.

All of them were arrested and money was also recovered from the driver of the vehicle. The arrested police officials were sent to judicial custody.
