CJI complaint walk out of SC inquiry

The ongoing chargeagainst the Chief Justice of India hit a roadblock as the complainant yesterdaywalked out of the former Supreme Court staffer, alleging that the in houseinquiry committee did not follow the Vishaka guidelines and hostile and willnot cooperate with it.

According to reports,the sacked woman staffer of the apex court, who appeared on Tuesday before thein-house inquiry panel of the apex court for the third time, told the judgesthat she was not happy at being denied assistance of her counsel Vrinda Groverand felt intimidated while facing members of the panel.

The three-member panel,headed by Justice S A Bobde, had conducted its first in-chamber sitting onFriday during which the woman and the secretary general of the apex courtappeared before it. The panel comprises of two women judges — Indu Malhotra andIndira Banerjee. She also demanded audio-video recording of the proceedings andassistance of her lawyer.

Alleging that there is alack of clarity in the on the procedure, she said that she was not given theminutes of the proceedings of April 26 and 29 by the in house panel. The formerwoman staffer claimed that all her demands were turned down by the panel.

"I felt I was not likelyto get justice from this committee and so I am no longer participating in thethree-judge committee proceedings," she said in a statement emailed to themedia.
