The Assamese nationalist forces opposed to the Citizenship Amendment Bill(CAB) is assembling this afternoon at Guwahati to chart the future course of action as on Monday the CAB is being introduced in the Lok Sabha.
Option before them are two. Firstly organise the existing forces to take over the AGP and throw out the tainted leadership or form a new regional party. Every indication is that AGP is being taken over removing the existing leadership and replacing it with Prafulla kumar Mahanta.
Mr Prafulla Kumar Mahanta had openly sided with this group which is basically led by intellectuals and columnist of Assam and supported by KMSS and its group.
The AGP officially meanwhile is still mulling their future course of action as both the minister Atul Bora(Jr) and Keshab Mahanta are not in favour of leaving the alliance.
The next few days are going to be crucial for Assam politics as it is bound to have long ramification.
