17 inmates of Barpeta District Jail on Wednesday have tested positive for coronavirus infection, taking the total tally of positive cases in the jail to 64.
Previously, 47 inmates had tested positive for COVID-19.
Additionally, 13 persons have detected with the disease in Barpeta district today.
Out of the 13, two medical professional of Barpeta Medical College and Hospital have also been found positive. Three personnel of Barpeta Road power circle office have also tested positive for COVID-19.
The rest victims belong to areas of Kalgachia, Katajhar, Belortari of the district.
