Dibrugarh leopard tranquilized after 12 hours


The leopard that entered a house at Paltanbazar area of Dibrugarh town on Thursday morning has been tranquilized by the forest officials in the evening. It took almost 12 hours to tranquilize the animal as sources have informed that there was no tranquilizer available with the forest department in Dibrugarh and neighbouring districts.

The leopard has attacked a man on Thursday as it sneaked into the house at around 9 AM. The injured has been identified as Ammamuddin Ahmed. Ammamuddin was immediately rushed to the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) for treatment.

According to Forest department official, the leopard was later released in Dehing Patkai Wildlife Sanctuary.
