GATE 2021: IIT-B Makes Changes In Exam Pattern

Indian Institute of Technology Bombay released the brochure of the GATE 2021 exam at its official website stating various changes in the exam pattern.

The changes include the addition and removal of cities where the exam will be held. The aspirants will have to now additionally answer Multiple Select Questions. This third type of question has been added to the pattern where previously only Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Numerical Answer Type Questions (NATs) existed.

72 marks will be now allotted for subject questions, 15 marks for general aptitude and 13 marks for engineering mathematics.

Earlier, changes such as the eligibility criteria relaxation and addition of exam papers of GATE 2021 have been announced.

Some of the exam cities have been added for GATE 2021 are Jhansi (IIT Kanpur), Dhenkanal (IIT Kharagpur), Chandrapur (IIT Bombay) and Muzzaffarnagar (IIT Roorkee). Pala (IIT Madras) has been removed from the list. There is a total of 195 Indian exam cities.

GATE 2021 will be held from February 5 to 7 and 12 to 14 as a computer-based test. Registrations for GATE 2021 will start from September 14 this year.
