Gautam Gambhir Retires From All Forms of Cricket

Gautam Gambhir, the third highest run-getter among Indian Test openers, has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on Tuesday (December 4).

Gambhir's last international appearance came in November 2016 when he featured in the first Test against England in Rajkot, where he finished with scores of 29 and 0. Delhi's next Ranji Trophy encounter against Andhra, beginning December 6, will be his last game.

The 37-year-old Delhi batsman announced his decision in a video post on his Twitter handle.

Gambhir played in 58 Tests between 2004 and 2016, scoring 4,154 runs at an average of 41.95, with the help of nine hundreds and 22 fifties.

He also played in 147 ODIs between 2003 and 2013, besides featuring in 37 T20 Internationals.
