In a sensational attempt torobbery, a maid drugged her employers in Guwahati's Beltola.
The incident occurred duringbroad day light at the residence of Madan Sharma, who is a PWD retiredemployee, in Majirpara.
Pratidin Time has gatheredCCTV visuals of the maid, identified as Dipa, of attempting to run away afterthe act. However, there are no reports of her whereabouts.
The employer couple, MadanSharma and his wife Bhanu Devi are critically ill and are being treated at thecity's Nemcare Hospital.
CID had reached the spotfor investigation during which they found a packet of money amounting to Rupees5, 53,000 along with gold jewellery.
It may be noted that themystery behind the act is yet unsolved.
The maid has been accusedof mixing some intoxicating substance with the breakfast which had led thecouple to unconsciousness. Reportedly, Madan blacked out first and Bhanu fell sicklater while on the way to bring milk from their neighbours.
It has come to light thatit was due to the promptness of their tenants that the couple had been saved.
