GUWAHATI | People ready to grand welcome Bodo leadership in Airport

The Center signed a tripartite agreement with all factionsof the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) on Monday.

Senior leaders of NDFB (S), Bodo organizations, BPF who have been camping in Delhi since Thursday will arrive in Assam on Tuesday. People have turned up in large numbers outside the LGBI Airport in Guwahati to welcome the Bodo leaders.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the Assam government andthe Bodo groups on Monday signed an agreement to redraw and rename the BodolandTerritorial Area District (BTAD) in Assam, currently spread over four districtsof Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa and Udalguri.

The people of Bodoland region has enough experience ofbitterness in the decade-long insurgency problems in Assam and BodolandTerritorial Council (BTC) region as it suffered lot of problems for the past 34years.

Now, with the latest development of peace process with themilitant group NDFB (S), the Bodo people has high hopes that the pain theysuffered due to militancy problems in the region will come to an end in the newera of peace and progress.

With such positive developments in BTC region, they are morethan happy and extend their appreciation to the government of India and, ofcourse, for the hard work of NDFB (S), ABSU and BPF leaders.

They said after several decades of unrest and bloodshed forthe cause of Bodoland, now they will begin to see a streak of silver line toaccomplish the hopes and aspirations of Bodoland people.
