In a beautification drive in Guwahati, the first ever Clock Tower will be installed near Last Gate in the city. Construction of the clock tower has been underway and likely to be completed within a month.
The beautiful clock tower in Last Gate has been constructed by the Guwahati City Lions Club and Park Panorama with the help of Assam PWD department with an amount of Rs. 22 lakhs.
The clock can be seen from four sides of the area, which are Super Market, MLA hostel, Ganesh Mandir and Beltola.
Locals in the area believed that the first ever clock tower in the city will give an unique identity to Last Gate. It should be noted that clock towers are a common sight in many parts of the world with some being iconic buildings.
