As per direction of Supreme of court of India, State NRC Coordinator Prateek Hajela made a power point presentation (PPT) on Friday in New Delhi.
Hajela presented the PPT before Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta, State Chief Secretary Alok Kumar, State Commissioner L S Changsan, Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, among others.
As per reports, the presentation would continue on Saturday.
Describing the history of Assam NRC and Assam accord, Hajela started his presentation. Hajela had showed some snapshots of the NRC of 1951. He also described about the process how did the ongoing NRC update process took place.
Why Hajela appealed before the court for dropping five NRC supporting documents for claims and objections will be discussed on Saturday (as per sources).
On Tuesday, SC directed Hajela to make a power-point presentation before the officials of the State in the presence of Attorney General KK Venugopal and Solicitor General Tushar Mehta.
The Court also asked the Assam Government and the Government of India, to respond to Hajela's appeal before the court for dropping the five supporting NRC documents by October 30, 2018.
As per reports, the court is going to hear the case on November 1, 2018.
