A high-level Health Department team reviewed the matter of deaths of the newborns in Jorhat Medical College Hospital (JMCH) on Tuesday.
The team led by Principal Secretary (Health) Samir Sinha and including the Commissioner and Secretary (Health) Dr AK Goyal, officials from NHM (Assam) including its Executive Director Dr AC Baishya.
The team also reviewed the child mortality and mother care system provided by the government health department of Assam.
This was followed by a meeting held at Jorhat Circuit House, where Deputy Commissioners along with joint directors of the Health Department and other senior officials of the department and the NHM took part.
