Hike Fares of Commercial Vehicle: AAMTA

The All Assam Motor Transport Association (AAMTA) has threatened the State Government that it will resort not to cooperate with the latter if the fares of vehicles to be requisitioned and allowances of vehicle crew members are not hiked by this month.

“The Assam government has turned a deaf ear to our repeated requests for hiking allowances and fares of commercial vehicles being requisitioned,” said a member of AAMTA.

The members of AAMTA further said that the State Transport Commissioner has also done nothing regarding their demand. “If our demand is not met within September 30, we may resort not to cooperate with the government any further,” said another member of AAMTA.

The association also announced to launch agitation against the government from October 3, if their demands are not meet.
