The National Highway 31 is closed for the second day in a row due to the landslide which occurred on Friday in the Jayaguru, Amingaon area.
The Kamrup district administration has urged all vehicles coming to Guwahati to use the Hajo road in view of the road blockade due to landslide on National Highway No. 31, Amingaon-Jayaguru. However, hundreds of vehicles are still stranded on the highway.
Due to heavy erosion of rocks and soil from the hills, a landslide occurred yesterday causing blockade on the highway. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are at the landslide site and are trying to clear the road blockade.
