Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP of Tezpur Pallab Lochan Das have featured in the latest cover story of leading magazine India Today that has carried an article on first time MPs that have been elected in the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
The cover of India Today which carried the article of the newly elected MPs for the first time reads as ‘The Brigade: First Time MPs make up half the new Lok Sabha and hope to bring the change India needs.’
The cover story in the leading magazine said that Pallab Lochan Das’s hobbies are reading books, listening to music and playing badminton. According to the report of the magazine, the Tezpur MP’s priorities are developing infrastructure, setting up educational, vocational and cultural institutes in Tezpur and policy changes for small tea planters.
Das’s father worked as a clerk at a tea garden and his mother is a homemaker and wife is a school teacher. It has also been mentioned in the magazine that he has an asset of Rs. one crore. The magazine further reads as, “Pallab Lochan Das has became an MLA at the age of 33 and was spotted by state finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma as a young tea garden leader.
He had won the Tezpur Lok Sabha seat be defeating Congress’s M.G.V.K. Bhanu with a marging of 684166 votes.
