Assam's Moni Borah has brought laurels to the state after winning Gold in the Sub Junior Girl's National Boxing Tournament being held in Bengaluru.

She showed great character to defeat her opponent from Tamil Nadu in the 60-Kg category event. Moni is a student of IX-th standard in Salikihat High School located in Borkachari, Golaghat.
