Assam BJP MLA Mihir Kanti Shome has tested positive for coronavirus on Friday evening and has been admitted to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH).
Shome is now the eighth legislator to have been infected by COVID-19 in the state. The MLA represents Udharbond constituency in Cachar district.
