Elaborate arrangements from security to jetties have been made for the smooth immersion of Durga idols at the ghats along the Brahmaputra on Tuesday.
The major immersion ghats in the city are Kachomarighat in Fancy Bazaar and Pandu Ghat. The other ghats where immersion will take place are Saukuchi, Chunsali, Noonmati, and Basistha.
Commissioner of Police, Guwahati Deepak Kumar said that this time 100 idols will be immersed in the Pandu Ghat and the puja committees have been instructed to finish the immersion by 10 PM.
