LGBI Airport conference Hall renamed after Bhupen Hazarika

The Airports Authority of India at Guwahati in a remarkable manner celebrated the 93rd birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika by naming its conference Hall in his honour.

The conference Hall at Regional Headquarters North Easter Region, Guwahati was named as Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Hall.

AAI, Regional Headquarters, Guwahati also named it’s another conference hall in the honour of ‘Kalaguru’ Bishnu Prasad Rabha, which is located adjacent to same office building. Bishnu Prasad is well remembered for his contribution towards the Assamese Culture in the fields of music, dance, painting, literature etc.

Inaugurating the occasion with Assamese artist Sadananda Gogoi, Sanjeev Jindal, Regional Executive Director-AAI said that it was need of the time that the day when Dr Bhupen Hazarika was conferred Bharat Ratna posthumously; we should also celebrate the occasion and what could be the best time other than his birth anniversary of the legend, to name our conference hall in his honour, he said.

Ramesh Kumar, Airport Director, Guwahati, General Managers and HODs of AAI, Employee’s Union members, Kalyaanmaye (AAI’s women welfare wing) members, ATC, CNS, Engineering guild members were also present on this occasion.
