Modi-Shah held discussion on new cabinet

Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shahheld an extensive meeting two days before the swearing-in ceremony of Modi asthe Prime Minister for the second term. The meeting lasted for around fivehours.

Sources said that both the leaders have discussed to shape the newgovernment which will be sworn in on May 30 and the formation of the newcouncil of ministers.

Speculations are on rife on the future role of Shah inside andoutside the party and it is believed that Shah might join the government. Shah hasplayed an important role in the BJP's return to power with a sweeping majority.

Sources informed that on May 30, along with the Prime Minister,60-66 new ministers might sworn-in which will also include some new faces andstates like West Bengal, Telangana and Odisha are expected to have a goodnumber in the council of ministers.

It has been reported that the key members from the previouscabinet such as Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, Ravi ShankarPrasad, Piyush Goyal and Narendra Singh Tomar are expected to be retained inthe new government.
