A youth was severely injured after being shot by an armed miscreant in Nagaon's Dhing on Wednesday.
The young man has been identified as Sohail Ahmed of Beshamari village.
The police rescued Ahmed in a critical condition in Sonari village and admitted him to the hospital.
An investigation has been launched to nab the miscreant.
The police have also recovered an empty magazine and weapon.
