The CentralGovernment announced its constitution on Thursday of various Cabinet Committeesincluding the one on economic affairs.
The governmenthad constituted committees on Wednesday on investment and growth to spur theeconomic growth and also on employment and skill development to deal with theissues of unemployment.
The Cabinetcommittees on the two issues have perhaps been set up for the first time.
The keycommittee on security was also set up on Wednesday where Prime MinisterNarendra Modi will be the head of the Committee, Defence Minister RajnathSingh, Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar andFinance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be its members.
The panelwill look after the issues related to national security and foreign affairs. Thepanel consists of Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) to be headed by thePrime Minister with Shah as the other member which has been announced onThursday.
According toreports, Shah will head the Cabinet Committee on Accommodation where Roadtransport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari, Finance Minister NirmalaSitharaman and Railway and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal will be its members.
The specialinvitees in the Accommodation Committee are minister of state in PMO JitendraSingh and Housing and Urban Affairs and Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Puri.
Moreover,the key cabinet committee on Economic Affairs will be headed by the PM and willhave Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Chemicals and FertilizersMinister DV Sadananda Gowda, Nirmala Sitharaman, Agriculture Minister NarendraSingh Tomar, Communication Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister for FoodProcessing Harsimrat Kaur Badal as its members.
The othersin the committee include S Jaishankar, Piyush Goyal and Petroleum MinisterDharmendra Pradhan.
The CabinetCommittee on Parliamentary Affairs will be headed by Amit Shah which recommendsdates for holding parliament sessions. The members of this committee will beNirmala Sitharaman, Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, Narendra SinghTomar, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Social Justice Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot,Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar and Parliamentary Affairs MinisterPrahlad Joshi as its members.
PM Modi willhead the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs which helps the government takeimportant policy decisions.
