Nationwide protest to be launched against C’ship Bill

Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti  (KMSS)  leader Akhil Gogoi said a nationwide protest and hunger strike would be launched against the Citizenship Amendment Bill. A District Coordinating Committee would be formed on Monday and a 'Dispur Gherao' program would be launched on 16th November, said the peasant leader at a public meet has been organised in Cotton State University's Sudmerson Hall on Sunday.

Renowned intellects of the state also attended the meet here today.

Dr Hiren Gohain who was present at the public meet alleged, " There is political connection in the Dhola incident and said BJP wants to win 2019 Lok Sabha polls by the Bengali votes".

Udayaditya Bharali, former Principal of Cotton College said, "We will never accept this unconstitutional Bill".

Sumitra Hazarika, noted women activist and former journalist opposed the Citizenship Bill and labeled  the NDA led BJP government fascist.

Earlier on Saturday, 70 organisations had come together to plan and come to a resolution as to how to go about the protest against the amendment bill across the state.

These organisations have been trying their best to save the identity and integrity of the people of Assam and the land itself, a role which was supposedly to be played by the state government.
