NCB To Seek Extension of Judicial Custody of Rhea

The judicial custody of Rhea Chakraborty, who is currently staying at Mumbai's Byculla jail, is ending on Tuesday. According to sources, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) might seek an extension of judicial custody of the actress, and her brother, Showik Chakraborty, at the sessions court today, reported India Today.

The NCB had arrested Rhea on September 8 and asked for a 14-day judicial custody of her till September 22. She was arrested for allegedly procuring drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput.

Rhea Chakraborty was arrested on the basis of statements of all the other people arrested in the case. Rhea's brother, Showik Chakraborty, in his statement to the NCB confessed that he arranged marijuana for the late actor. He also said that Rhea paid for the drugs.

Sushant Singh Rajput's house manager, Samuel Miranda, and his staff, Dipesh Sawant, are also in jail. They revealed Rhea Chakraborty's involvement in the drug link. The NCB has arrested 18 people so far in the case. Many of them include peddlers who would supply drugs to Bollywood celebrities.

Sources say that the NCB has asked for judicial custody of Showik and Dipesh till September 29 in an application.

On Monday, the NCB questioned Jaya Saha, with whom Rhea Chakraborty chatted about CBD oil on WhatsApp, for four hours. In the chats, released by the Enforcement Directorate, the two women can be seen discussing drugs. Jaya advised Rhea to used a few drops of a substance in Sushant Singh Rajput's tea or coffee. The message reads, "Use 4 drops in tea, let him sip it. Give it 30-40 mins to kick in." It was later found out that the duo was discussing CBD Oil. The NCB has called Jaya again on Tuesday along with Rhea's manager Shruti Modi.
