During this winter session of parliament, BJP led Central Govt had already declared regarding the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB). But at the same time, the north-Eastern states like Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh have given oppose stand to this decision.

Pema Khandu, the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh to visit Amit Shah today for the issue of CAB. Arunachal and the other states mentioned above, has already informed the Home Ministry about their decision earlier, that they don’t need the bill. According to Khandu, he has taken the decision due to maintaining the social, geographical and traditional balance in the states.

In Arunachal Pradesh, the final meet of the Consultative Committee has held yesterday, where more than a hundred local organisations had taken part, and the final decision had taken at the meet.

A few members of the Committee said, If CAB implements in Arunachal Pradesh, it will be cause for the bloody situations in the state. Instead of implementing CAB, the Arunachal govt is interested to implement the NRC soon.

It may be stated that opposing CAB, already “Bandh” was held in Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday and “Manipur People Against Citizenship Amendment Bill” and “Manipur Peoples Party” had observed Bandh for 18 hours since Tuesday in Manipur.
