01. US Elections: Trump to Seek Recount in Wisconsin

US President Donald Trump will "immediately" seek a recount in Wisconsin where Joe Biden is currently holding a razor-thin lead, said the Republican candidate's campaign manager on Wednesday.

02. Arnab Goswami Remanded To 14-Day Judicial Custody

Republic TV Editor-in- Chief Arnab Goswami, arrested on Wednesday for allegedly abetting the suicide of an interior designer, was remanded to judicial custody till Nov 18 by a court, PTI stated. The court gave the ruling late in the night today.

03. Second Batch Of Rafale Jets Arrives From France

The second batch of Rafale jets compromising four jets has arrived in India, the Air Force tweeted this evening. The jets had covered the 7000-odd km flying non-stop from France, the IAF had posted.

04. Revised Voting Percentage In Second Phase Of Bihar Polls Recorded At 55.70%

The voting percentage in the second phase of polling on 94 seats in the Bihar assembly elections increased to 55.70 after updation of the figures by the Election Commission Wednesday.

05. 70.27% Polling In Madhya Pradesh Assembly Bypolls

Despite the coronavirus scare, a 70.27 per cent voter turnout was recorded in Tuesday's byelections to 28 Assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh, an official said. The average voting percentage in these constituencies in the 2018 Assembly polls was 72.93.

06. Sikkim Bans Firecrackers

The Sikkim government on Wednesday imposed a complete ban on use of firecrackers throughout the state in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis. Chief Secretary SC Gupta issued an order under provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, to impose a complete ban on bursting firecrackers in the state till further orders.

07. Second FIR Filed Against Arnab Goswami, Family

Another FIR was registered on Wednesday evening against Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami, his wife, son and two others on Wednesday for allegedly assaulting a woman police officer when a team reached his residence this morning to arrest him in a 2018 abetment to suicide case.

08. Assam: No COVID Death Recorded After 115 Days

In a major relief, after 115 days Assam has reported no coronavirus related death on November 4 (Wednesday), health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed. Assam had reported the first coronavirus death on April 10. 

09. Assam: Onions At ₹50 Per Kg From Thursday

In a latest development, the wholesale price of onions would be rupees 50 from Thursday onwards, Assam food and civil supplies minister Phani Bhushan Choudhury said on Wednesday.

India's Foreign Secretary Harsh Shringla on Tuesday said the aftermath of the US presidential election is unlikely to cause any strain to the India-US bilateral ties as it is based on bipartisan support, a Hindustan Times report said.

11. NGT Committee Slaps Rs 131 Cr Compensation For Baghjan Families

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) appointed Committee on Baghjan has recommended compensation worth Rs 131 crores to the Baghjan victims @ Rs 25 lakh each to 173 families and Rs 20 lakh each to   439 families. The final report of the Committee was submitted to the NGT on October 31 last.

12. AJP Releases Party Flag and Draft Constitution

The newly-formed political party Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) has released its party flag and the draft constitution at Hotel Prag Continental in Guwahati. The flag which is of blue colour has a ring in the left side of the flag which has a red circle in it. The red circle will have the symbol of the party to be provided by the Election Commission.

13. Trump Faces "Embarrassing Defeat" If He Fights Vote In Court: Joe Biden Team

President Donald Trump will suffer a harsh loss if he follows through on threats to challenge election vote counts in the US Supreme Court, a lawyer for Democrat Joe Biden's campaign warned Wednesday. Trump "will be in for one of the most embarrassing defeats a president ever suffered before the highest court in the land" if he asks it to invalidate ballots counted after Election Day, said former White House counsel Bob Bauer.

14. ISIS Claims Responsibility For Vienna Attack

Islamic State group (ISIS) has claimed credit for the brutal shooting spree in Vienna that killed four people and injured 14 others on Monday night. The group said it in a statement on its Telegram channels.

15. Threats Received To 2 Air India Flights

Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport has received a threat call regarding two Air India flights, scheduled to take off for London tomorrow. According to the police, the call was made by the banned pro-Khalistan outfit, Sikhs For Justice, which threatened that it will not let the flights land in Britain's capital.
