01. Army Chief Reviews Security Situation In North East

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Manoj Mukund Naravane is on a three-day visit to Dimapur to review the security situation in North East Region.

02. Mizoram: Heroin Worth Rupees 20 Lakh Seized

Assam Rifles on Tuesday seized heroin worth Rs 20 lakh in Zokhawthar village along the Myanmar border of Champhai district in Mizoram. According to an ANI report, Assam rifles with Young Mizo Association (YMA) and village-level task force (VLTF), Zokhawthar acted on a tip-off of smuggling of weapons and drugs along the Myanmar border in Zokhawthar village of Champhai district.

03. Last Rites Of Tarun Gogoi To Be Held At Navagraha

In a latest development, Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Tuesday evening that former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi's last rites will be held at Navagraha Smashan in Guwahati on November 26.

04. Eminent Lyricist Geeta Hatikakati Passes Away At 77

Eminent lyricist Geeta Hatikakati on Tuesday passed away after prolonged battle with age-related illness. She was 77. As per reports, Hatikakati was under treatment since a long time. She breathed her last at around 6:46 PM today.

05. First 'Kisan Rail' Enroute Guwahati From Indore

In a first, a Kisan Rail of Western Railway (WR) carrying about 180 tonnes of onions will soon be reaching Guwahati from Madhya Pradesh's Indore after its departure on Tuesday morning. As per reports, 20 general category coaches are attached in the Kisan Rail and will leave for Guwahati every Tuesday from Indore.

06. Assam: Revision Of Electoral Roll By Dec 15

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nitin Khade appealed to the people of Assam to check the 'Draft Photo Electoral Roll-2021' that was published on November 18 this year. The corrections have to be made on or before December 15 this year. The final photo electoral roll will be published on January 15, 2021, the CEO said while addressing the media on Monday afternoon.

07. Govt Bans 43 More 'Chinese' Apps

A fresh ban on as many as 43 mobile apps which have linkage with China have been imposed by the Government of India on Tuesday. These apps include popular e-commerce website AliExpress, CamCard, Taobao Live etc. Three months ago, the government banned popular battle-royale game PUBG Mobile along with 117 other Chinese apps.

08. Assam Teacher Eligibility Test On Jan 10

Assam's Secondary Education Department has notified that the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for the recruitment of postgraduate teachers will be held on January 10, 2021. The department has also notified that it is the tentative date of the exam and could be rescheduled in case of any exigencies.

09. 'Delhi Crime' Bags Emmy Awards For Best Drama

The Netflix India produced show Delhi Crime won the 48th International Emmy Awards for the best drama series on Monday night. According to a PTI report, director-writer Richie Mehta said on Tuesday the award is the collective victory of the cast and crew who worked tirelessly to make the show a reality.

10. PM Modi, Amit Shah Recall Lachit Borphukan On Birth Anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday paid tributes to the legendary Ahom General Bir Lachit Borphukan on his 398th birth anniversary. Both the leaders took to twitter to convey their respects to the state hero who led the Assamese army to victory in the legendary battle of Saraighat. Lachit Divas is celebrated statewide in Assam to commemorate the heroism of Lachit Borphukan and promote his ideals.

11. Congress Urges State Govt to Allot Land for Tarun Gogoi's Cremation

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) expressed anger as the state government has not yet decided the place for the cremation of the former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi. APCC President Ripun Bora said that even after there are thousands of bighas of government land lying vacant in the city, still the government has not yet decided the ground for cremation of the veteran politician.

12. 2 Missing As 9 Trucks Slide Off Vessel, Fall Into Ganga River

At least two people were after a total of nine trucks slide off a cargo ship and fell into Ganga river in West Bengal's Malda district on Monday. According to reports, the accident took place when the lorries, laden with stone chips, fell off a Roll On Roll Off (RORO) vessel after it developed a snag while on its way to Malda's Manichak from Jharkhand on Monday evening. The RORO is a vessel used to carry vehicles along with passengers.

13. Sonia Gandhi Writes To Gaurav Gogoi

Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Monday wrote to Gaurav Gogoi and family expressing grief on the demise of former chief minister Tarun Gogoi. In the letter, Ms Gandhi mentions how Tarun Gogoi was "admired and respected" in the Congress party and described him as one the "tallest leaders". She sent her condolences and said the Congress party will always honour his memory.

14. CM Sonowal Pays Tribute to Lachit Barphukan on Birth Anniversary

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal paid floral tribute to the legendary Ahom General Bir Lachit Barphukan on his birth anniversary on Tuesday. Paying tribute to the Ahom General, Sonowal in a tweet wrote, "Bir Lachit Barphukan's name is wrought bright in the annals of history as the epitome of valour and patriotism. His chronicles of heroism have inspired generations. My reverence to the great Ahom General on his birth anniversary. #LachitDiwas."

15. National Flag Half-Mast In Gandhi Mandap

As a three-day mourning period has been announced by the Assam government on the demise of former chief minister Tarun Gogoi, the third tallest flag in the country, which is in Guwahati's Gandhi Mandap, is seen flying half-mast.
