01. UNLOCK 3.0 Guwahati: Liquor "On" Shops Timings

The Kamrup Metro district administration on Thursday has announced of all IMFL (Indian Made Foreign Liquor) "on" shops are allowed to be opened from 10 AM to 5 PM. IMF "on" shops are places where one can purchase and consume liquor while "off" shops are only wine shops.

02. BCCI, Vivo India Suspend IPL 2020 Partnership

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Chinese smartphone maker Vivo' s national arm Vivo India on Thursday have announced the suspension of their partnership for this year's Indian Premier League, an official statement stated.

A man accused of raping and torturing a 12-year-old girl in her Delhi house has been arrested, the police said. The survivor underwent a surgery at AIIMS hospital and was critical, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said earlier today, calling it a barbaric crime.

A special CBI court in Mumbai rejected the bail plea of Indrani Mukerjea, the prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, noting that the possibility of the accused influencing prosecution witnesses cannot be ruled out.

TV actor and model Samir Sharma was found dead last night at his Mumbai home, police said. The 44-year-old actor was found hanging in the kitchen of his Malad flat, police said, adding that they suspect he killed himself.

11. No Clear Mortality Benefit Of Plasma Therapy: AIIMS

Convalescent plasma therapy did not show benefit in reducing mortality risk among COVID-19 patients, according to an interim analysis of a randomised controlled trial done at AIIMS in Delhi to assess the efficacy of this mode of treatment, a PTI news agency report stated.

12. India's COVID-19 Recovery Rate Climbs To 67.62%

The ministry of health and family welfare on Thursday informed the recovery rate has continued its upward journey to reach another record high of 67.62% amongst COVID-19 patients. The total recoveries of COVID-19 patients have jumped to 13,28,336 with 46,121 COVID-19 patients being discharged in the last 24 hours. The spike in recoveries has led to the gap between recovered patients and active COVID-19 cases to reach 7,32,835, the ministry said.

Two days after 135 people died and thousands injured in Lebanon's Beirut due to an explosion that occurred from unsafe storage of ammonium nitrate, major concerns have aroused as about 700 tonnes of explosive chemicals have been stored for years under the custody of the Customs Department at the outskirts of Tamil Nadu's capital city Chennai.
