India will host the 2021 T20 World Cup while Australia will conduct this year’s postponed edition in 2022, the ICC announced after its board meeting on Friday.

02 Kerala: 17 Dead After Plane Breaks In Two

At least 17 people were killed after an Air India Express plane with 190 on board from Dubai skidded off the runway and broke in two while landing at Kerala’s Kozhikode on Friday amid heavy rain. Among those killed were the two pilots of Flight IX-1344.

03 NIA Court Rejects Bail Plea Of Akhil Gogoi

The NIA court on Friday rejected the bail plea of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) chief Akhil Gogoi. Earlier the Gauhati High Court granted bail to Gogoi under three cases registered in Chabua police station.

05 GU Hostels To Reopen From September 1

The hostels of Gauhati University will reopen from September 1 and the exams for Undergraduate will commence from September 22, said an official order of the university. The notification stated that the commencement of PG examinations will follow soon after from September 25. The plan, however, is subject to changes in case of changes in directives by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

06 Indian Men’s Hockey Captain Manpreet Singh Tests COVID-19+

The Indian men’s hockey team captain Manpreet Singh and three other players have tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of a national camp in Bengaluru, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) said on Friday. Besides Manpreet, defender Surender Kumar, Jaskaran Singh and drag-flicker Varun Kumar have also tested positive for the deadly virus.

07 JAM 2021 Admission Portal Launched

The Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru, or IIsc Bengaluru, has announced the dates of JAM 2021. Joint Admission Test for MSc, or JAM, will be held on February 14, 2021. Candidates with the required eligibility criteria can apply online for JAM 2021 between September 10 and October 15, 2020 on the designated website.
