The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora on Tuesday said that he did not have anything against senior leader Tarun Gogoi, if the latter becomes the party president.
Addressing the media in Guwahati, Bora said, “If high-command wants Tarun Gogoi to be the president of APCC, then I have nothing against it.”
Reacting to the recent results of by-election, Bora alleged that BJP has distributed money and mobile phones among the voters. He, however, maintained that the voter percentages of Congress have increased in Sonari and Ratabari constituencies. “We will hold a review meeting regarding the results of by-elections on November 1,” Bora added.
On the other hand, opposing the proposed privatization of Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), the APCC decided to stage a protest rally at Numaligarh on October 30, informed Bora.
