NRC: Objection filed against MP’s mother

At a time when there are allegations being made of filing false objections with false identities, at the same time, MP Abdul khaleque, who has has been newly elected for the Barpeta LS seat was seen at a NRC Seva Kendra (NSK) in Barpeta Road.

Khaleque had to be present at the NSK on Monday with his mother, against whom an objection had been filed by one Hridayranjan Nath.

It may be noted that the MP's mother, Sabura Khatun, aged 75, was born in Kalgachiya's Bartari village under the Janiya Constituency in the Barpeta district. However, the complainant Hridayranjan Nath has filed three objections against Khatun.

Although the Congress leader presented his mother for the hearing at the NSK to provide with all the details, the complainant however, was not present at the centre.

After the hearing, Khaleque termed the filing of objections as a conspiracy.

The MP further stated that his mother is undoubtedly an Indian citizen and that her name is also enlisted on the 1951 NRC list and also that her name is scribed in the 1970 voter list.

In such a scenario, why one Hridayranjan Nath had filed objections against his mother is a mystery, expressed the MP.
