The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has placed the Pakistan in the “Enhanced Expedited Follow Up List (Blacklist)”. FATF’s regional affiliate, the Asia-Pacific Group (APG) blacklisted Pakistan for its failure to meet its standards.
According to reports, Pakistan was non-compliant on 32 of the 40 compliance parameters of terror financing and money laundering. Also Pakistan was adjudged as low as 10 on11 effectiveness parameters. The APG took the decision during a meeting in Canberra.
However, the Pakistan Finance Ministry has rejected the reports regarding Pakistan being blacklisted by the APG.
