Braving inclement weather and Bihu festivities, the electioneering for the second phase has reached a feverish pitch in the last 48 hours as it comes to an end this evening with the BJP and its leader Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma taking the march ahead with his daily evening road shows attracting very huge crowds.

In all the four of the five seats, it would be a direct contest between BJP and Congress and only in Karimganj seat, it would be a three-way contest with AIUDF, Congress, and BJP.

The BJP’s campaign is much more visible than the Congress with Dr. Sharma as the star campaigner adding the spice in the electioneering with relentless evening road shows from Silchar to Mangaldoi. However, in Silchar, the Priyanka Gandhi road show stole the limelight.

Meanwhile, the election materials for the remote polling booths have already left but the inclement weather has hampered the progress as some areas of Karbi Anglog , Halflong is very remote and need trekking.
