PM terms Ex-PM Rajiv Gandhi as ‘Corrupt No.1’

Referring to the Bofors case, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday attacked Congress president Rahul Gandhi and termed former PM Rajiv Gandhi as “corrupt no.1”. The PM made the comment in a rally in Uttar Pradesh.

“Your father was termed ‘Mr Clean’ by his courtiers, but his life ended as ‘Bhrashtachari number 1,” said the PM. He further said that Rahul Gandhi’s continuous attack alleging corruption in the Rafale deal is nothing but an effort to tarnish his image.

“By tarnishing my image and by making me look small, these people want to form an unstable and a weak government in the country,” said PM Modi, while attacking the oppositions.

Meanwhile, reacting to PM Modi’s remark against the Ex-PM, Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “Modi Ji, The battle is over. Your Karma awaits you. Projecting your inner beliefs about yourself onto my father won’t protect you. All my love and a huge hug. Rahul.”
