In a horrifying incident in Haryana's Mewat district, a pregnant goat died after eight intoxicated men allegedly gang raped her.
The incident reportedly took place on the night of July 25 and a complaint has been registered against the accused. The goat's owner registered a police complaint on July 26 after he found the goat missing.
Nagina police station in charge (SI) Rajbir Singh said, "One person, Aslu registered a complaint on July 26 that his goat was gang-raped on the night of July 25 by Savakar, Haroon, Jaffar and five others whose identities are yet to be ascertained. All the accused are currently absconding."
Police have registered the case under Section 377 of the IPC which prohibits carnal intercourse against the order of nature with man, woman or animal, and the Animal Cruelty Act.
Following the incident, a #JusticeForGoat campaign has started on Twitter, where thousands of people including Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar, have raised concern over the dreadful act.
