The opposition Congress members on Wednesday again disrupted the proceedings in Rajya Sabha over the Karnataka crisis and accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of trying to destabilize the party’s coalition government in the state.
According to news agency ANI, the house is adjourned till 3pm.
Soon after Congress members stormed into the well of the House, forcing M Venkaiah Naidu to adjourn proceedings first till noon then till 2 pm.
Naidu, at the start of the proceedings said that he has not admitted notices by Congress members including Kapil Sibal under rule 267 seeking suspension of rules to take up their issue.
Naidu later told the agitated Congress members to not put democracy in danger. The Congress members while protesting, Naidu said them, “You don’t want to allow democracy to function here? This prompted members to take their seat and the House took up Zero Hour where submissions of urgent public important are taken up.”
