The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) demanded fast track court to investigate into the murder of Rituparna Pegu.
Addressing the media at Rajiv Bhawan, APCC President Ripun Bora said that the mob lynching cases in the state are rising at an alarming rate. He said that the state government is about to introduce a law but it has not yet done for which such incidents are increasing day by day.
The APCC president also criticized the advisory issued by the education department during the course of the lockdown period. The APCC demanded that the private schools should take 50% fees from the students until the institutions are fully functional. “The schools are taking bus fees although the schools are closed for more than three months. The government should take action and should instruct the school authorities that no bus fees should be paid until the school reopens,” Bora said.
The president also alleged that many schools are still taking annual fees, renewal fees, re-admission fees from the students.
