Expressing dissatisfaction over National Register of Citizens’ (NRC) , the Sachetan Nagarik Mancha (SNM) has staged a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi against the publication of it on August 31 and demands an error-free NRC.
The forum alleged that many names of foreigners’ have been included in the NRC and that it’s Coordinator Prateek Hajela himself confessed about the buying and selling of legacy.
The forum, therefore, demanded to register case against it and also demanded a CBI investigation into it.
The forum also demanded the Central Government that it should withdraw the publication of the NRC on August 31 even by bringing an ordinance.
It may be mentioned that the Supreme Court of India has instructed the NRC authorities to publish the NRC on August 31 on any circumstances and that it could not extend the date further as it was already too late.
