Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Assam Pradesh President Ranjit Das and MP Tapan Gogoi and Dilip Saikia welcomed the move of Central Government for scrapping Article 370 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference, Ranjit Das said that Shyama Prasad Mukherjee had sacrificed for scrapping Article 370.
Talking about Article 371, Das said that opposition and other organizations have created chaos regarding the Article but there is nothing to fear over Article 371 as nothing will be changed.
Das further claims that the joining mission is much more than it has been expected and that the mission is more successful in the state than the national level.
MP Dilip Saikia said that witnessing such a historic step of scrapping Article 370 after elected MP for the first time has been a proud moment for them. He further said that there would not be any chance of intervention of any third party in the problems of Kashmir.
Saikia also alleged that the Hindu Sikh minorities in Jammu and Kashmir were deprived from their rights and now they will be able to access all their rights as citizens. He also said that many observed August 5 as Black Day but the day will be a rectification of a historic blunder.
Meanwhile, MP Tapan Gogoi thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking such a historic step.
