The DGP said that he was in constant touch with his Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh counterparts regarding security offensive against militants in bordering areas of both the states.
“ We have asked both Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh police to carryout offensive against militants in Assam bordering areas. In some districts of the states, section 144 have been imposed so that vested elements can’t create any disturbance in the run up to the Independence Day celebration”, said Saikia.
