Security measures have been intensified across the state in the run up to Independence Day celebration. Security personnel keep close vigil on all important government installations.
Police have launched search operation in waterways, roadways, railway stations and search expedition has also been launched at Kamakhya railway station since Sunday morning.
The police have searched the platform, lounge, trains with the help of the sniffer dog so that no untoward incident could take place on or before the Independence Day.
Guwahati Police Commissioner Deepak Kumar also said earlier that 9 CCTV cameras have been installed in the Khanapara Veterinary playground where the celebration will take place.
The Commissioner said that the ULFA also threatens to attack on the I-Day and therefore security will be tightened so that no untoward incident could take place and that many areas in Guwahati have been identified as vulnerable.
