Shimla players allege ill-treatment in Assam


In an utter unfortunate incident, the sub-junior baseball players from outside Assam alleged that they were provided with poor reception in Guwahati. The players have come to take part in the ongoing National Sub-Junior Baseball Championship at the Nehru Stadium and Judges Field in the city. The competition has started on July 13 and will conclude on July 17.

The junior players from Shimla have alleged that the organizers did not provide food to them. They further said that they were allotted in a very unhygienic room, where they have spent the entire night. The organizers reportedly allotted TC Government Girls’ School in Guwahati. The junior players have spent the night at the veranda of the school.

Meanwhile, the host of the competition, Assam Baseball Association, has spent lakhs of rupees on banners and hoardings to give a gimmick to the competition, but have not provided the basic facilities to the junior players, who have come to take part in the competition.
