Tapan Das Bags Best Theatre Actor Award

Eminent Assamese Theatre artiste Tapan Das has been awarded the Best Actor (Male) for his character in Mastaan in the third Bhraymaman Mobile Theatre Awards. The actor has been awarded for his character which was staged in Brindaban Theatre in the last drama season.

The award was presented for 26 different categories attended by ahost other luminaries including some of the stalwarts from the world of theAssamese mobile theatre industry.

The award was presented by Dalmia Cement to identify and honourthe theatre artistes of the state and to encourage them for the future.

The other winners of the ceremony included Surjya Theatre (BestTheatre team), Prastuti Parashar and Pranjana Dutta- joint winners in the BestActor (Female) category.

Parashar was honoured for her role in Madhuri MorNaam, while Dutta bagged the award for her character in Mirabai.

Kohinoor Theatre bagged the Most Popular Theatre Groupwhile Actor Utpal Das bagged the most popular actor (male).

Moreover, Singer Zubeen Garg received the RED FM Bajate Raho Best Playback Singer (Male) award for the play Deuta of Chiranjeeb Theatre.

Meanwhile, Mirabai was adjudged as the Best Drama and MridulChutia won the Best Director award.

The actors and technicians associated with the mobile theatreindustry have opined that there should be many more mobile theatre awards inthe state so that each and everyone is motivated for doing good work.
