Tarun Gogoi attacks AGP-BJP alliance

Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Thursday thrashed both BJP and AGP over their alliance for the coming Lok Sabha elections. "Both BJP and AGP know that they cannot win alone, hence they have finally ended up in an alliance," said Gogoi during a press conference at Rajiv Bhawan in Guwahati.

Attacking BJP further, Gogoi said, "All of the leaders in BJP have joined the party from other parties," adding, "BJP is hiding money under their Lotus (BJP's symbol)." He also said that BJP governments in both Centre and State have betrayed the people.

The senior leader of the Congress slammed AGP and said, "We have seen a rare political drama after AGP joined their hands with BJP. The AGP three ministers have surpassed 'Badan' in terms of betraying the people of Assam."

On the other hand, when asked for a comment for a comment on the Congress-AIUDF alliance for the Lok Sabha elections, Gogoi said, "It is impossible for an alliance with AIUDF in Assam."
