An IT employee of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was sacked for allegedly used social media to send rape and death threats to women.
Screenshots of abusive messages by the employee circulated and the company took immediate notice and began probing into the issue, said sources.
Reportedly, the employee sent the abusive messages to 19-year-old woman in Assam, who reportedly filed a police complaint against him in Kolkata.
The sources added the TCS employee had admitted to having committed the crime of sending abusive messages.
After the sacking of the employee, TCS stated that – “At TCS we have zero tolerance towards any act which goes against our core values. The employee has been relieved with immediate effect.”
The employee who was accused of the crime had apparently deleted his social media account after the incident.
