Gloom descended over the entire tea industry in the state following a daring attack on the manager of Sonari Tea Estate Jitu Hazarika by a group of tea workers in the garden premises on Tuesday.
The intruders physically assaulted him; an FIR has been lodged at the local police station and police is investigating the incident. However, none of the miscreants could be arrested so far.
They faced unlawful deduction from wages: tea workers claimed.
